# Profile fields

Every field on your profile and what it controls.

A **Profile** is the set of personal settings attached to your user account, editable from the **Your profile** tab under your account settings.

## Fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| **Email** | Your login email. Set at sign-up; not editable from the profile form. |
| **Username** | Optional display name. Unique within your site (the same value can exist under a different site's account). Only letters and numbers are kept — other characters are stripped automatically. |
| **First Name** | Displayed in the UI and on printed documents. |
| **Last Name** | Displayed in the UI and on printed documents. |
| **Password** | Leave blank to keep your current password. Changing it requires your current password to confirm. 8 characters minimum. |
| **Unit System** | `Metric` or `Imperial`. Applies to the machining calculator and cutting data display — not to Inventory quantities, which use each item's own unit of measure regardless of this setting. |
| **Language** | Interface language: English, Japanese, or Vietnamese. Overrides your organization's default locale for your own session. |
| **Time Zone** | Used to display every timestamp you see — job runs, audit entries, document dates. Overrides your organization's default time zone for your own session only. |
| **Avatar** | Profile picture. PNG or JPEG, smaller than 1 MB. Generated automatically as a monogram from your initials when you first sign up; upload your own picture or regenerate the monogram at any time. |
