# Create your account

Sign up for Tooling Metrics with your work email and confirm it to activate your account.

**Prerequisites:** A work email address at your company's domain (free consumer email providers like Gmail or Yahoo are rejected).

By the end of this tutorial you'll have a confirmed, active Tooling Metrics account, ready to log in.

## Sign up

1. Go to the sign-up page and enter your **Work email**, a **Password**, and **Password confirmation** (8 characters minimum).
1. Check the box to accept the Terms of Service.
1. Click **Sign up**.

You'll land on a **"Thank you for signing up!"** screen asking you to click the verification link in the email we've sent. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, click **Resend confirmation email** on that same screen — check your spam folder first.

## Confirm your email

Open the confirmation email and click the verification link. Your account is now active.

This doesn't sign you in automatically — you're taken to the sign-in page, where you log in with the email and password you just chose.
