# Plans

Subscription plan tiers, feature allowances, and billing periods.

**Plans** define the feature limits and pricing for each subscription tier available in Tooling Metrics. The active plan is shown under **Billing and Plans → Billing and Usages**, and all plans are compared under **Billing and Plans → Plans**.

## Plan fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| **Name** | The plan: ONE or PRO. |
| **Description** | Summary of what the plan includes. |
| **Price** | Subscription cost per billing period. |
| **Billing Period** | `Monthly` — billed every month. `Annually` — billed once per year, typically at a discount. |

## Allowances

Each plan defines a **Storage** allowance: the maximum file attachment storage across the entire organization, covering product models and drawings, NC programs, photos, and other uploaded files. Storage used against this allowance is shown in [Billing and usage](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/admin/reference/billing-and-usage/).

## Changing plans

Plan switches, upgrades and downgrades alike, take effect immediately with prorated billing: you are credited for unused time on the current plan and charged for the new plan from today. Before you confirm, a preview shows the credit and the amount due today. ## Trial

New organizations have access to all features during a 90-day trial period before a plan must be selected. See [Billing and usage](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/admin/reference/billing-and-usage/) for trial status details.
