# Get started

Follow these tutorials in order to plan a part's production and release its setup sheet.

- [Using Process Designer](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/engineering/tutorials/process-designer.md): Define a part, create a project, add a job with a machine assignment, and define its operations.
- [Using Autodesk Fusion](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/engineering/tutorials/cam-autodesk-fusion.md): Define a part, create a project, and add a job with a machine assignment.
- [Project release and approval](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/engineering/tutorials/project-release-approval.md): Review a completed job, release it, and get it approved so production can prepare tools.

This series is for the **CNC Programmer** or **Process Engineer**, who documents how each part is machined and prepares work instructions for the shopfloor. It takes about 40 minutes.

**Before you start:** finish the [Library](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/library/tutorials/) series. Following the [Quickstart](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/start-here/quickstart/engineering/) demo instead of your own data? Use its part and tool assembly list.

Start in Production: [create a machine](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/production/tutorials/create-machine/) and its tooling interfaces. Then document the process one of two ways: **Using Process Designer**, if you program directly in NC code, or **Using Autodesk Fusion**, if you program with ToolingMetrics CAM Connect for Autodesk Fusion. Finish with **Project release and approval**, so Inventory and Purchasing can start procurement and Production can prepare the tools.

**After this series:** the Inventory Controller starts the [Inventory](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/inventory/tutorials/) series to set up the warehouse and do the first physical count. The Purchaser starts [Purchasing](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/purchasing/tutorials/) after it, since that series needs the stock rules Inventory creates.
