**Prerequisites:** None — this is the first step of inventory setup.

**Required permission:** Admin Center access (organization owner or a member of the `<org-name>-admins` group).

## Create a warehouse

1. In the top-right menu, click your organization name → **Manage Organization**.
1. In the admin sidebar, click **Warehouses** → **+ Create**.
1. Enter the warehouse **Name** (e.g., *Main Warehouse*).
1. Enter the **Delivery Address** — the physical shipping address used on purchase orders directed to this warehouse.
1. Select the **Administrator**.
1. Leave **Parent Warehouse** blank for a top-level warehouse. Set it only if this is a sub-warehouse of another (e.g., a satellite storage area within a larger facility).
1. Click **Create**. Four virtual Warehouse Locations — Inventory, Scrap, PO Receive, and Assembly — are created automatically; there is no separate step to add them.

## Create a warehouse access point

A Warehouse Access Point (WAP) is the area where physical inventory operations happen — picking, restocking, and receiving. Storage devices live inside a WAP, and all inventory movements are associated with one.

1. In the admin sidebar, click **Warehouse Access Points** → **+ Create**.
1. Enter the **Name** (e.g., *Tool Crib A*).
1. Select the **Warehouse** this access point belongs to.
1. Select the **Administrator**.
1. Click **Create**.

The next step is to add storage devices to this access point. See [Configure a storage device](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/inventory/guides/configure-storage-device/).
