# Transfers

Transfer document fields and move-line status lifecycle.

A **Transfer** moves inventory items from one storage location to another, within a warehouse or between warehouses. The office document tracks status; the physical pick at the source and placement at the destination are performed by operators at a ToolingMetrics WAP terminal.

## Document fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| **Number** | Auto-generated from the Transfers sequence. |
| **Pick From** | The Warehouse Access Point items are picked from. |
| **Restock To** | The Warehouse Access Point items are moving to. |
| **Status** | See [Status flow](#status-flow) below. |

## Move line fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| **Item** | The item being moved. |
| **From** | The specific storage location the item is coming from. |
| **To** | The specific storage location the item is going to. |
| **Quantity** | Number of units to move. |
| **Reserved** | How much of the requested quantity is currently available to move, recalculated whenever the transfer is (re-)marked as todo. |

## Status flow

| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| **Draft** | Lines are being added. No inventory impact. |
| **Waiting** | Requested via Mark as Todo, but at least one line's quantity exceeds what's currently available at the source. |
| **Ready** | Requested via Mark as Todo, and every line is fully available at the source. |
| **In Transit** | Lines have been picked at the source WAP terminal. On-hand at the source is reduced; destination not yet updated. |
| **Done** | Lines have been placed at the destination WAP terminal. On-hand at the destination updated. |
| **Cancelled** | Transfer was discarded. No inventory impact. |
