A **Pick List** instructs an operator to retrieve items or tools from storage at a Warehouse Access Point. Pick lists are created automatically — by the Engineering [Setup Assistant](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/engineering/reference/setup-assistant/) when preparing a job's tools, or when generating the components for a single tool — or manually for ad-hoc picks. Pick Lists live in the Inventory module (**Inventory → Pick Lists**) alongside every other stock-move document, since picking is a warehouse operation shared by every module.

## Document fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| **Number** | Auto-generated identifier. |
| **Warehouse Access Point** | The WAP items are picked from. |
| **Source** | What the pick is for — a Tool being assembled, a Machine, or left unset for a general warehouse pick. |
| **Status** | See [Status flow](#status-flow) below. |

## Line fields

Each pick list line specifies one item or tool to retrieve.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| **Item / Tool** | The item or tool to pick. |
| **Quantity / Reserved Quantity** | Quantity requested, and how much of it is currently available to pick. |
| **Source** | The specific storage location to pick from. |
| **Destination** | Where the picked item is going — a Tool, a Machine, or another location. |
| **Line Status** | See [Line status values](#line-status-values) below. |

## Status flow

| Status | Set by | Description |
|---|---|---|
| **Draft** | — | Lines are being added. No inventory impact. |
| **Waiting** | Mark as Todo | Requested, but at least one line isn't fully available yet. Availability is not rechecked automatically; click **Check Availability** to recheck. |
| **Ready** | Mark as Todo or Check Availability | Every line is fully available to pick. |
| **Done** | Validate | Confirmed. On-hand quantities decrease at the source and the picked items or tools move to their destination — this is when items move In Circulation. |
| **Cancelled** | Cancel | Discarded. Any reserved quantity is released. |

## Line status values

| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| **Waiting** | Not enough stock available at the source to reserve this line at all. |
| **Partial Available** | Some, but not all, of the requested quantity is available. |
| **Available** | The full requested quantity is reserved and ready to be confirmed. |
| **Done** | Picked — set automatically for every available line when the pick list is validated. |
| **Cancelled** | Line discarded with the pick list. |

## Picking at the WAP

The physical pick — walking to the storage location and scanning or entering the item's serial number — happens at a **ToolingMetrics WAP** terminal, which highlights the location on the warehouse's 3D model for each line. The same Mark as Todo / Check Availability / Validate actions are available from the WAP screen, so a pick list can be started, worked, and completed without leaving the terminal. The office Pick Lists list is for creating ad-hoc pick lists and reviewing status.
