**Prerequisites:** A purchase receipt has been validated (status Done).
**Required permission:** Purchase → Purchase Restocks — User or above. Admins can validate any restock; Managers and Users only the restocks they created.

A **Purchase Restock** is the put-away operation that physically places received items into their designated storage locations.

## Steps

1. In the sidebar, click **Purchase → Purchase Restocks** (or, if one wasn't created for you automatically, open the purchase order and click **New Restock**).
1. Open the restock. One you created with **New Restock** starts in **Draft**; one created automatically starts in **Waiting**.
1. If the restock was created automatically, the **To** location is pre-filled for each line from the item's stock rules — verify it's correct. On a restock you opened with **New Restock**, select the storage location for each line yourself.
1. Physically move each item to its location.
1. Click **Mark as Todo**, then **Validate** once every line is placed.

## What to expect

The restock status changes to **Done**. The on-hand quantity for each item updates immediately at the specified storage location. The items are now visible in the warehouse inventory with their location address.

If a line is for a serialized item, you'll be prompted to assign a serial number to each physical piece before validating.

## Purchasing series complete

Stock is now in the warehouse. The Production team can start the [Production](https://support.toolingmetrics.com/en/production/) series to assemble tools, process pick lists, and run their first job.
