Parts
Part fields, attachments, and how parts relate to projects and jobs.
A Part is the workpiece or component being machined. Each Job produces (or partially machines) exactly one part — the part belongs to the job, not to the project. A Project only has parts indirectly, through the jobs it contains, and can span multiple different parts. Parts provide traceability from the customer-facing part number through to the operations and tools used to make it.

A part does not have a workflow status of its own. Its lifecycle is tracked through the projects and jobs that reference it.
- Each job belongs to exactly one part.
- A project is a container of jobs — those jobs may share the same part or produce different parts, depending on how the project is organized.
- Part number and customer number are printed on setup sheets for shopfloor traceability.
