Invite users
Invite your team to Tooling Metrics, then add each person to the right group.
Prerequisites: At least one group has been created.
Required permission: Admin Center access (organization owner or a member of the <org-name>-admins group).
- In the admin sidebar, click Users → + Invite.
- Enter the person’s First Name, Last Name, and Email address.
- Click Send Invitation.
That’s the whole form — there’s no group picker or locale field here. The person is placed in the organization’s default group automatically, and their locale and time zone are copied from the organization. Their status shows as Invited until they accept.
Add them to a group
Section titled “Add them to a group”The invite puts every new user in the baseline default group only. To give them the access their role needs:
- Open the Users list and find the person.
- On their row or card, click the Add groups icon, then search for and select one or more of the groups you created in Configure groups and permissions.
- Click Add groups.
A user can be in more than one group at once — their permission level for each record type is the highest one found across all their groups.
Invite multiple users
Section titled “Invite multiple users”Repeat the steps above for each team member. There is no bulk invite — each user is invited individually.
What to expect
Section titled “What to expect”| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Invited | Invitation sent; the person has not yet set a password and accepted |
| Active | Person has accepted and can log in |
| Suspended | Access has been turned off; the person is removed from all groups and cannot log in |
If a user does not receive the invitation email, check their spam folder, then use Users → open the user → Resend Invitation. If the invite form rejects the email outright, the domain is likely a disposable or free consumer email provider — both are blocked; use the person’s work email instead.
Set up document sequences — customize how Tooling Metrics automatically numbers documents like purchase orders and projects.
