This series is for the CNC Programmer or Process Engineer, who documents how each part is machined and prepares work instructions for the shopfloor. It takes about 40 minutes.

Before you start: finish the Library series. Following the Quickstart demo instead of your own data? Use its part and tool assembly list.

Start in Production: create a machine and its tooling interfaces. Then document the process one of two ways: Using Process Designer, if you program directly in NC code, or Using Autodesk Fusion, if you program with ToolingMetrics CAM Connect for Autodesk Fusion. Finish with Project release and approval, so Inventory and Purchasing can start procurement and Production can prepare the tools.

After this series: the Inventory Controller starts the Inventory series to set up the warehouse and do the first physical count. The Purchaser starts Purchasing after it, since that series needs the stock rules Inventory creates.
