Set up a warehouse

Add a warehouse to the organization, configure its access points, and set its place in the hierarchy.

Updated

Prerequisites: None — this is the first step of inventory setup.

Required permission: Admin Center access (organization owner or a member of the <org-name>-admins group).

  1. In the top-right menu, click your organization name → Manage Organization.
  2. In the admin sidebar, click Warehouses → + Create.
  3. Enter the warehouse Name (e.g., Main Warehouse).
  4. Enter the Delivery Address — the physical shipping address used on purchase orders directed to this warehouse.
  5. Select the Administrator.
  6. Leave Parent Warehouse blank for a top-level warehouse. Set it only if this is a sub-warehouse of another (e.g., a satellite storage area within a larger facility).
  7. Click Create. Four virtual Warehouse Locations — Inventory, Scrap, PO Receive, and Assembly — are created automatically; there is no separate step to add them.

A Warehouse Access Point (WAP) is the area where physical inventory operations happen — picking, restocking, and receiving. Storage devices live inside a WAP, and all inventory movements are associated with one.

  1. In the admin sidebar, click Warehouse Access Points → + Create.
  2. Enter the Name (e.g., Tool Crib A).
  3. Select the Warehouse this access point belongs to.
  4. Select the Administrator.
  5. Click Create.

The next step is to add storage devices to this access point. See Configure a storage device.
