Configure a warehouse access point

Define the physical access zone where operators pick and restock tools.

Updated

Prerequisites: A warehouse exists.
Required permission: Admin Center access (organization owner or a member of the <org-name>-admins group).

A Warehouse Access Point (WAP) represents a physical zone in your workshop where operators interact with storage devices — picking tools for jobs, restocking returned items, and performing transfers. Storage devices are assigned to a WAP based on their physical location.

When an operator logs in from a WAP terminal or mobile device, they see only the storage devices in their assigned WAP — simplifying navigation in large facilities.

  1. In the admin sidebar, click Warehouse Access Points → + Create.
  2. Enter the Name (e.g., Tool Room - Main Crib or WAP-01).
  3. Add a Description to note its physical location (optional but useful in multi-WAP setups).
  4. Select the Warehouse it belongs to.
  5. Select the Administrator.
  6. Click Create.

After creating the WAP, assign the storage devices that are physically located in this zone:

  1. Open the WAP record.
  2. In the Storage Devices tab, click ⊕. A new storage device form opens with this WAP already selected as its Warehouse Access Point.
  3. Fill in the device and click Create.
  4. To move a device you already created, open it, click Edit, change its Warehouse Access Point, and click Update.

A storage device can belong to only one WAP. If your warehouse has multiple zones, create a WAP for each and assign devices accordingly.

Operators accessing this WAP will see the 3D layout of its storage devices and receive step-by-step location guidance during pick and restock operations.

For WAP auto-logout and security settings, see Configure auto-logout in the How-to Guides.

Sync products to items — create inventory item records from the products in your library so stock can be tracked and purchased.
