Create a machine

Register the CNC machine and its tooling interfaces in Tooling Metrics.

Prerequisites: A Warehouse Access Point exists — see the organization tutorial.
Required permission: Production → Machines — User or above. Admins can edit any machine; Managers and Users only the machines they created.

Create the machine record the CNC Programmer will reference when defining operations:

  1. Open Production → Machines → + Create.
  2. Enter the name (e.g. Haas TM-01), builder, model, and serial number. Assign the Warehouse Access Point created during the organization tutorial.
  3. In the machine detail view, add a Head component with 30 slots. Under the head’s Interfaces, add CAT40 interfaces using codes: SKG30C0400****, SKG31C0400****, SKG36C0400****, SKG37C0400****.

Interface codes allow Tooling Metrics to filter which tool assemblies are compatible with this machine. For field definitions, see Machines.
