Before you begin
Get your account, organization, and demo data ready before starting any tutorial series.
Account
Section titled “Account”New to Tooling Metrics: See sign up an account — sign up, confirm your email to activate your account to get started. If you’re the site owner or an admin of an organization, continue with the admin tutorial series to set up your organization and invite your team. If you sign up on your own and someone at your company has already signed up, see log in and get access for what to expect from the request-and-approve process.
Joining an existing organization by invitation: You’ll receive an email invitation — no sign-up needed. Set your password to activate your account, then log in. Once you’re in, confirm your group and permission level before starting any role-specific tutorials — each resource requires a minimum permission to create or edit records.
Browser
Section titled “Browser”Tooling Metrics runs in any modern browser. Chrome, Edge, or Firefox are recommended for the best experience with the 3D CAD viewer.
User preferences
Section titled “User preferences”Set your personal preferences — name, username, locale, time zone, unit system, avatar — from the account menu (your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar) → Setting. See manage your profile.
Ready?
Section titled “Ready?”- Onboarding your organization? → Start with the organization tutorial
- Following the Quickstart demo? → Quickstart — sample data download instructions are included there
- Learning a specific module? → Go directly to that module’s tutorial series
- Just need to manage your own account? → Your account — password, profile, notifications, API tokens
