Process your first pick list
Take a pick list from Waiting through to Done and collect the components.
Prerequisites: A pick list has been generated for a tool. Required permission: Inventory → Pick Lists — User or above. Admins can validate any pick list; Managers and Users only the pick lists they created.
- In the sidebar, click Inventory → Pick Lists (or open it directly from the tool record).
- Click Mark as Todo. Tooling Metrics checks stock at the source Warehouse Access Point and sets each line’s status — Available, Partial Available, or Waiting.
- Once every line is Available, click Check Availability if needed to move the pick list to Ready.
- For a serialized component, pick it at the WAP terminal by scanning or entering its serial number — the line updates as pieces are matched. A non-serialized component just needs the quantity confirmed.
- Click Validate.
What to expect
Section titled “What to expect”The pick list moves to Done. For each line:
- On-hand quantity decreases at the storage location.
- In-circulation quantity increases on the item.
- The item lands on the tool — logged on its Assembly History tab and showing on its Items List.
The tool is now ready to be physically assembled and, once built, transferred to the machine.
If stock falls short
Section titled “If stock falls short”If a line can’t be fully covered, it stays Waiting or Partial Available — it isn’t a dead end. Click Check Availability again once stock is replenished, or Cancel the pick list if you need to release the reservation and start over.
Set up the machine — release the tool and transfer it to the machine.
